Om Namah Shivay

Salutations to the Supreme — A Group Bharatanatyam Recital

“Five syllables. One universe. Endless devotion.”

OM NAMAH SHIVAY — the sacred five-syllable mantra, chanted by millions across centuries in search of spiritual awakening — becomes visual poetry in this powerful group Bharatanatyam recital. Choreographed by Apeksha Niranjan, the performance transforms each sacred syllable into gesture, each prayer into movement, celebrating Lord Shiva in all his magnificent forms: the cosmic dancer, the eternal protector, the compassionate creator.

Shiva in his infinite forms

Nataraja — The performance opens with Shiva as the Lord of Dance, performing the eternal Tandava. Every step governs the pulse of creation itself. Every gesture holds the cosmos in balance.

Brihadeeswara — A special homage to the magnificent Shiva Linga at the Brihadeeswara Temple in Thanjavur — one of India’s greatest architectural and spiritual marvels. Through dance, the performers pay tribute to this timeless sacred presence.

Adilinga — Shiva as the infinite pillar of light with no beginning and no end — the eternal, formless absolute that exists beyond time and space.

Gangadhara — Shiva catching the mighty Ganga in his matted locks, protecting the earth from her torrential force — another act of divine compassion woven into movement.

a celebration of artistic excellence

Om Namah Shivay! is choreographed by Apeksha Niranjan and performed alongside her senior students from Nrityanjali Performing Arts — dancers who have completed their Bachelor’s in Bharatanatyam. This group presentation celebrates the living tradition of guru-shishya parampara: the passing of art, devotion, and discipline from one generation to the next. The performance is not merely a recital — it is a testament to years of rigorous training, now manifested in full artistic and spiritual bloom.
