Vishnu Vilasam
The Divine Play of Lord Vishnu — A Group Bharatanatyam Presentation
VISHNU VILASAM — ‘The Divine Play of Vishnu’ — is a group Bharatanatyam presentation choreographed by Apeksha Niranjan, celebrating Lord Vishnu in his many magnificent forms: the preserver of the universe, the tender-hearted protector, the lover, the warrior, and the supreme being who reclines on the cosmic ocean in eternal, creative rest.
The production explores the boundless grace of Vishnu through his Dashavatara — the ten principal incarnations through which he descends into the world to restore dharma. From the fierce Narasimha who tears through illusion to protect his devotee, to the gentle Krishna who steals hearts with a smile, to the noble Rama whose every action is a lesson in righteousness — VISHNU VILASAM is a devotional journey through the fullness of divine grace.
This production holds a special place in Apeksha’s artistic journey: it was performed at Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams in Andhra Pradesh in 2024 — one of the holiest shrines in the Hindu world, and one of the most prestigious stages a classical dancer can grace. Dancing in the presence of the deity himself, before thousands of devotees, is an experience beyond words — and VISHNU VILASAM was honoured to carry that sacred privilege.
